This investigation revealed a massive backlog within one of Bexar County's felony courts and a family experiencing delayed justice as a result of it. Within days of the story being published, the defendant in the five-year-old intoxication manslaughter case was forced to appear in court to plead guilty and the judge took steps to eliminate hundreds of cases from his backlog.
