2020 Charles E. Green Star Reporter: Erin Sheridan, Brownsville Herald

Erin Sheridan of the Brownsville Herald won the 2020 Charles Green Award for outstanding reporter of the year. Her coverage of courts, crime, immigration and other news while navigating the challenges of COVID-19 beat out entires from scores of other Texas media, many of them bigger outlets. Her work was jusdged by the Headliners Foundation and the Texas AP Managing Editors Association.

She spoke with the Headliners Foundation’s Mark Morrison to discuss her major stories from the past year.
