Judge’s Comments:

KRLD’s breaking news coverage of a shooting that locked down a campus included frequent updates, reporters on the scene, interviews with police and also with bystanders. Initially viewed as a life-threatening situation with an active gunman, the station responded appropriately to warn people the campus was locked down and to stay away. When police later clarified the gunman went after only one person and then killed himself, they reported that promptly as well.
