TONY PLOHETSKI, KVUE-TV
Judge’s Comments:
Tony’s composure, poise, clear and detailed reporting are what first jump out to me. Tony’s ability to tell the story using the surveillance video is so effective that even if I were not looking at the screen, (when the officers are in the school hallway, especially), as a viewer, I understand what’s happening, because he’s painting such a clear picture of the scene with his writing.
Tony’s package regarding the domestic violence call, reminds me of a mini-doc, 20/20 style report. The use of the police dispatch audio, the drone shots, the interviews with the officers, the editing, the music and the use of pictures of the officers’ injuries were very moving. Tony’s creativity and excellent writing allow the stories to breathe.
