Fred Zipp

Fred Zipp retired as editor of the Austin American-Statesman in 2011 after 32 years in daily newspaper journalism. During stints at the Beaumont Enterprise, Palm Beach Post and American-Statesman, Zipp worked as a reporter and editor in a variety of assignments. He is a past officer of the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas and has worked on FOI issues for the American Society of News Editors. He is an adjunct instructor of journalism at the University of Texas-Austin.
