Judge Comments:
This package was separated into manageable ‘chapters’, easy to navigate,and had a searchable database. Each story also contained an inset with related stories, which was helpful to navigate between parts. Links to original documents shows KHOU was really taking advantage of the web as a medium, not just repurposing their content from another medium. The web offers opportunities to do things that you can’t do on television or in print, and station gave every Texan a chance to look at the quality of their own water. Links to relevant government documents, and tips for affected individuals to find out
- whether they were in an affected area and
- what they could do to protect themselves.
