Reporter Brett Shipp of WFAA-TV, Dallas spearheaded a year-long investigation that began with the explosion of several homes in the North Texas region and ultimately revealed serious deficiencies in the safety of coupling rings on residential gas lines and the safety regulations that were intended to prevent the associated gas leaks.
