David Dunham

David Barr Dunham is publisher of Texas Monthly/ Development. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in English, he joined the staff of Texas Monthly in 1979. Dunham is a past chairman of the board of directors of the Texas Travel Industry Association, past president of the board of directors of the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau, and past president of the board of directors of Caritas of Austin, a human services agency dealing with Austin’s homeless and needy. He was a 1991 recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the City of Austin, Adweek Magazine’s Texas Media Hall of Fame, and was honored by the Texas Travel Industry Association in 2005 with its Tall in Texas Award, an award given to Texans who have made a lasting and significant contribution to the travel industry. Dunham has also served on the board of the Texas Conservation Coalition and as Junior Warden of the Vestry of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. Currently, Dunham serves on the advisory board of Caritas, the U.T. Marine Science Institute Advisory Council and the board of the Texas Travel Industry Association as chair of it’s Legislative Affairs committee. The proud father of Hayden, Will, and Patrick, David lives in Austin, Texas.
